WSS consists of
Water Resource Efficiency Index (WREI)
shows how much water a brand uses to make one “unit” of business activity, then adjusts that figure for source quality—utility and bore-water drag the score down, while grey-water reuse and rain-harvesting lift it—so the cleaner its supply mix, the closer WREI moves toward 100.
Internal Sustainability Efforts (ISE)
blends the share of water a brand reuses or harvests on-site with an audited “Future Commitment” rating, awarding higher marks only when both current practice and verified long-term plans are strong.
Footprint Offset %
is the fraction of a brand’s weighted water consumption for the quarter that it neutralises by retiring certified water-saving credits.

One aquakredit represents 1000 litres of verified water-replenishment delivered by a stewardship project in a stressed basin. The impact is third-party audited and hashed to our public blockchain.
Registry vs. AquaDEX—what’s the difference?
Registry offers fixed-price credits straight from projects. AquaDEX is a live marketplace where buyers and sellers set their own prices, letting you trade or hedge just like on a commodities exchange.
How do you verify my quarterly water data?
You can upload a CSV, connect smart-meter APIs, or let us fetch utility bills. Our engine cross-checks entries, flags anomalies, and time-stamps the final numbers on-chain so neither of us can tamper with them later.
Do I need hardware sensors to join?
No. Sensors give richer insights, but manual uploads or utility integrations are enough to start earning your WSS and offsetting consumption. You can add IoT devices later without changing plans.
Where does my money go when I buy credits?
85 % goes directly to the water-stewardship project developer. The remaining 15 % funds independent verification, on-chain recording, and platform upkeep.
What happens if my water use varies quarter to quarter?
The loop is designed for flexibility. If consumption spikes, you simply acquire and retire extra credits before claiming your WSS for that quarter. Surplus credits can be carried forward or traded on AquaDEX.
Can I resell credits for a profit?
Yes—until you retire them. Active credits can be listed on AquaDEX, letting you capture price appreciation or re-balance portfolios just like other ESG assets.
How much does it cost to open an account?
Creating an Aqverium account is free. You only pay transaction fees (0.5 % on Registry purchases, 0.3 % maker/taker on AquaDEX) and an optional analytics add-on for enterprise dashboards.
